Classes & events offered LIVE online while FIAF is closed.

 

FIAF premises remain closed at this time. The health and well-being of our students, members, visitors, and staff are our number one priority. We are closely monitoring information and recommendations provided by the CDC and public health authorities regarding COVID-19. We will reopen as soon as we are able to do so in a safe and responsible manner.

Our programs continue online:

  • Spring French classes for all ages are being held live on Zoom. New classes start every week!
  • Private lessons are being held on Zoom or being rescheduled in accordance with the student’s preference.
  • The FIAF Preschool will resume on Monday, April 20 with a remote learning program continuing for both Nursery and PreK classes until further notice. Applications are open for the 2020–2021 school year.
  • All FIAF events in our building are suspended until further notice. New LIVE events conceived by FIAF are being presented online each week. Exciting cultural content is posted each week on our FIAF à la maison page and on Instagram and Facebook.
  • The FIAF Library is offering their programs LIVE online each week. Library late fees are waived.

A fun, new month-long virtual CinéSalon series, Nest of Spies: France’s Top Secret Agents, recommends a delightful assortment of thrillers and comedies for you to enjoy each week in April.

The following events have been postponed indefinitely: TILT Kids Day events (March 21); Champagne Tasting (March 25); Philanthropy Today talk (March 26); Rewriting History (April 1–14), Conversation with Thomas Piketty (April 20), and Songs and Sips with Susan Kostrzewa (April 23).

FIAF Library

FIAF Library is closed at this time. All late fees will be waived and due dates extended to after the closure period.

FIAF Members are invited to take advantage of the Culturethèque digital library and enjoy free access to French eBooks, bandes dessinées, magazines, music, children’s books and cartoons, podcasts, and more.

 

FIAF Language Center (Manhattan & Montclair)

FIAF Preschool
The FIAF Preschool will open online on Monday, April 20 with a remote learning program continuing for both Nursery and PreK classes until further notice. We are still accepting applications for the 2020–2021 school year and our team will be happy to assist you remotely should you have any questions.

Spring Session Registration
Placement tests, online registration, and assistance via email will remain available during the closure.

à petits pas Toddler Spring Classes
Classes for ages 1–4 will begin the week of April 6. Classes will begin online in an adjusted format on Zoom with your assigned teacher and then switch to regular in-person classes when FIAF opens. Parents will receive detailed class information from the teacher before the first class.

Kids & Teens Spring Classes
Classes for ages 5–17 will begin the week of April 6. Classes will begin online on Zoom with your assigned teacher and then switch to regular in-person classes when FIAF opens. Parents will receive detailed class information from the teacher before the first class.

Adult Spring Classes
Classes for adults will begin the week of April 6. Classes will begin online on Zoom with your assigned teacher and then switch to regular in-person classes when FIAF opens. Students will receive detailed class information from their teacher before the first class. If a specific class cannot be held online, we will coordinate with the teacher and students to find the best solution.

Private Lessons
While FIAF is closed, students in coordination with their teacher can choose to continue lessons online or postpone them to a later date. Students should keep FIAF’s administration informed via email about how they wish to proceed during the closure. If a student needs to discontinue lessons due to health concerns, we will offer them credit for the unused hours in their lessons package.
