Workshop II: Make a Short Pinscreen Film

Saturday, January 26, 2019
1pm
Ages 12+
FIAF Tinker Auditorium

Alexandre Noyer will lead eight participants in the creation of a collective short film using a pinscreen instrument.

Developed in the 1930s by artists Alexandre Alexeïeff and Claire Parker, the pinscreen uses pins to create finely textured images that can be captured through stop-motion animation.

The workshop will start with an introduction to the pinscreen machine to allow participants to become familiar with the device. Each participant will then have the opportunity to create a segment of a cadavre exquis or exquisite corpse. An assortment of tools will be available to create imagery, which will then be animated using stop-motion software.
