Job Title: Marketing Director

Position Overview:

The Marketing Director will work closely with the VP of Marketing & Communications to shape and expand FIAF’s public awareness while enhancing the organization’s profile and visibility. This position requires a creative and strategic thinker with a profound passion for the arts and education, strong leadership skills, and a proven track record in communications and marketing. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience within the NYC arts and education industry and a deep connection to the arts scene, crucial attributes for amplifying our mission and values to the public. The Marketing Director plays a key role in FIAF’s Marketing team, managing the Digital Marketing Manager and coordinating with other team members and across the organization to support our ambitious goals.

Responsibilities:

  • Strategize closely with the VP of Marketing & Communications to develop, implement, and optimize the marketing strategy to amplify FIAF’s goals and mission and drive qualified traffic to the front door.
  • Deploy successful marketing campaigns and own their implementation from ideation to execution.
  • Experiment with a variety of organic and paid acquisition channels such as content creation, content curation, pay per click campaigns, lead generation campaigns, email acquisition strategies, and influencer marketing, among others.
  • Measure and report on the performance of marketing campaigns and leverage research and data insights to optimize marketing and communications practices.
  • Identify and analyze market challenges and opportunities, refining the communication strategy accordingly.
  • Edit and oversee monthly marketing reports, working with VP of Marketing & Communications to develop new strategies for data-backed improvement.
  • Establish and nurture relationships with vendors, agencies, and key stakeholders in the NYC arts and education industries.
  • Administer the Marketing Department operating budget in concert with the VP of Marketing & Communications, making recommendations for allocation.
  • Work with cross-functional partners to implement new programming and create forecast.
  • Oversee the Email & Digital Marketing Manager in:
    · Developing, implementing, and executing strategic email marketing campaigns in support of FIAF-wide communications, events, and language center offerings
    · Analyzing consumer behavior and adjusting email and advertising campaigns accordingly
    · Managing lead-generating digital ad campaigns via direct efforrts through Meta and via our agency partner
    · Managing the SEO strategy and executing plans to improve organic search rankings
    · Overseeing content management of FIAF’s WordPress website
    · Producing valuable and engaging content for our website and blog that attracts and converts our target groups
  • Collaborate with the Director of Communications and the rest of the marketing team to implement cohensive marketing plans that support major institutional strategies with messaging that aligns seamlessly
  • Collaborate with the Box Office Manager to optimize the organization’s ticket sales strategy to maximize sales and audience engagement, and manage existing relationships with external vendors and sales partners (Today Tix, TDF, etc)
  • Assist with marketing material implementation, collaborating closely with the Design team to produce high-impact and consistently excellent marketing materials
  • Work closely with the Language Center Department, Programming Department, and Development Department to support all parts of the organization with strategic marketing efforts
  • Must be available to work in-person minimum 4 days per week
  • Must be available to periodically attend events after work hours and on the weekends

Qualifications

This position will require a strategic, results-driven mindset, strong project management skills, exceptional writing ability, a keen eye for style and branding, and a passion for storytelling across all platforms. The ideal candidate will have a high sense of urgency and operate in a proactive, motivational manner

    • Education: Bachelors in a Communications, Marketing or related field preferred
    • Minimum five years of progressively responsible experience in marketing and communications, especially in the NYC arts or education field
    • Extensive experience in a wide range of marketing strategies, including digital, email, social, print, and OOH
    • Experience with project management platforms and/or managing a complex communications calendar
    • Experience working and building within a CRM and marketing automation system
    • Proven ability to manage a team and collaborate effectively across departments

Job Title: Marketing Intern

The French Institute Alliance Française (FIAF) in New York is currently looking for a marketing intern for a full-time 12- or 18-month internship, starting on February 1, 2024. The successful candidate will have the proactive mindset and close attention to detail required to support the Marketing & Communications team in producing effective marketing campaigns in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities:

  • Participate in the development of marketing plans

Position Overview:
FIAF is looking for a full-time Preschool Teacher for its Preschool, an immersion French program designed for toddlers and preschoolers (ages 2.5 to 4.5). The teacher will be responsible for planning and implementing developmentally appropriate activities designed to teach French, while promoting social, emotional, cognitive, and physical growth in toddler and preschool-aged children.

FIAF Montclair is looking for a full-time teacher of French as foreign language to teach French language classes to children (2 to 11 years old), teens (11 to 18 years old), and adults (18+ years old) from beginner to advanced levels including French for native speakers for the younger audiences (2 to 18 years old).

The Montclair Branch of the French Institute Alliance Française (FIAF) is looking for a full-time Assistant Teacher for its à petits pas Excellence program, a French immersion program for toddlers ages 2.5 and 5. The Assistant Teacher will be responsible for supporting the teachers with the planning and implementation of developmentally appropriate activities designed to promote social, emotional, cognitive, and physical growth in preschool aged children. The position includes after-school care responsibilities.

Responsibilities and Tasks

• Assist teachers in the implementation of the curriculum.

Teaching hours can be scheduled Tuesday through Friday between 7:30am and 3:30pm, between 9:45am and 5:45pm, or between 1:15pm and 9:15pm, and Saturday between 8:45am and 4:45pm. Teaching schedules can change from session to session.
                  • Design and follow a complete teaching plan about French language and culture
                  • Use a variety of activities and instructional methods relevant to the audience to stimulate the learning process and the students’ abilities
                  • Monitor students’ interactions in the classroom and nurture cooperation and sharing
                  • Assess students’ performance and progress to ensure they are mastering the skills on regular basis
                  • Organize learning material and resources
                  • Cooperate with administration staff
                  • Follow and comply with FIAF teaching standards
                  • Assist with new students’ placement test
                  • Assist in the development and organization of educational, cultural and social activities to help grow the FIAF members’ community in its Montclair, NJ location
                  • Participate in development and collaboration for events within and outside of FIAF to attract new students and members

Qualifications:

                  • Native French-speaker or equivalent proficiency, ability to communicate clearly in English
                  • Proven working experience as a teacher of French as a foreign language including an experience in teaching French to young learners
                  • Excellent knowledge of latest education theories and practices in the field of foreign language teaching
                  • Excellent knowledge of the French and Francophone cultures
                  • Creative and artistic teaching abilities
                  • Teaching and organization skills
                  • Patience and flexibility
                  • Strong communication skills
                  • Keep abreast with the latest trends and best practices
                  • Master’s degree in teaching French as a foreign language or relevant bachelor’s degree/certificate (Licence FLE, DAEFLE, or equivalent)
                  • Artistic skills a plus (performing or visual arts)
                  • Must be legally able to work in the US

Benefits
All employees receive earned sick leave. Teachers working at least 800 hours within a calendar year receive PTO. Teachers working 1000+ hours within a calendar year receive PTO and are eligible for health insurance.
