In the United States, filmmaker Lorenzo Mattotti (The Bears’s Famous Invasion of Sicily) is best known for his work as a graphic novel author and an illustrator. In particular, he is celebrated for the enchanting covers he has created for The New Yorker since 1995. “Mattotti’s covers lure us with their beauty,” said his New Yorker editor Françoise Mouly, “they offer a greater understanding of the world with their wit.”

FIAF’s exhibition of Mattotti’s New Yorker covers will give audiences a chance to rediscover the artist’s astute eye, virtuosic compositions and wry sense of humour.
